Welcome to Memoiris. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Memoiris.

2. Description of Service

Memoiris is a memoir and companion application that allows users to record memories through voice and text conversations with an AI companion, organize memories into chapters, and optionally share content with friends and the community plaza.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Memoiris. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in Memoiris, including voice recordings, text entries, memoir chapters, and social posts. By using Memoiris, you grant us a license to:

• Process your content to provide the service (e.g., speech-to-text, AI response generation).
• Store and display your content within your account.
• Display your publicly posted content (e.g., plaza posts) to other users.

You are solely responsible for your content. You must not post content that is illegal, harmful, infringing, or violates the rights of others.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Memoiris for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, state, or international law.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or impersonate another person.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or another user's account.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers without our permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Resell or redistribute the service without authorization.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

• Memoiris offers a premium subscription that unlocks additional features.
• Subscriptions are billed through Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings.
• Refunds are subject to the policies of Google Play or Apple App Store.
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.

8. AI-Generated Content

Memoiris uses AI language models to generate companion responses. AI-generated content may not always be accurate or appropriate. You should not rely solely on AI responses for important decisions. We are not liable for any harm resulting from AI-generated content.

9. Intellectual Property

Memoiris, including its design, features, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our prior written consent.

10. Privacy

Your use of Memoiris is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. Please review it carefully.

11. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you for any modifications, suspensions, or discontinuance of the service.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time within the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we believe your conduct is harmful to the service or other users.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

Memoiris is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of Memoiris.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the service operator is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Memoiris after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
